FAQs

Are there any other fees associated with your pricing?
The only other charge you will receive when booking with me is sales tax. The Utah State Tax Commission requires photographers to charge sales tax on everything, including sitting fees, digital images and physical products. I do also offer prints, canvases and other items for sale, but you are not required to make a purchase.

Do you provide RAW files?
I do NOT provide clients with RAW files for two reasons. The first reason is because I will not deliver photos that do not reflect my portfolio standards. The second reason is because RAW files require special software to open and most people do not have these programs and therefore will not be able to use the images. I also do not deliver unedited photos, as it doesn’t reflect my portfolio standards.

What form of payment do you accept?
I can accept debit/credit cards and cash payments, but a 25% deposit is due upon booking.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! I am a licensed LLC and have insurance. If you need more information regarding licensing or insurance, please contact me and we can discuss details.

Do I get all of the images you take?
This depends on your package. If you have a session booked that has a 8 or 25 image limit, you will only receive 8 or 25 photos. You are always welcome to purchase the full gallery if you wish.

If you have a birth session booked, you will receive all photos edited (that aren’t test shots, blurry or duplicates). If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact me!

Do you share all the birth photos you take (including crowning images or images containing nudity)?
No! I will never share anything that I don’t have permission sharing. You may allow me to share as little or as much as you wish and I will NEVER share anything that makes you or your partner uncomfortable.

Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, of course! I can create a custom payment plan for you if needed. These are especially helpful for birth photography and videography services and can help spread out payments while you wait for the arrival of your new member!

When should I book with you?
That depends on your session. If you are wanting to book a birth photography session, booking in your second trimester is best. Not only will we be able to set up a payment plan for you if needed, but it will also insure I have availability for your due date. I only accept a limited amount of births per month and the sessions can book very quickly.

Do you use flash during your birth sessions?
Yes, but the flash will never be pointed at you or the baby. I use my flash and bounce it off the ceiling to provide me with adequate light to ensure high quality images. You always reserve the right to tell me to turn off my flash, but all of my past clients have mentioned that it wasn’t distracting or irritating at all (and most mention they didn’t even notice my flash!).

What if you get sick or can’t make my birth?
I always make sure to stay in town during the weeks I am on call, but if any reason were to arise, I have a great list of back up photographers who can cover until I am able to get there. I will still edit all your photos.

Do you have doulas or midwives you recommend?
Yes! I have had the pleasure of working with some great doulas and midwives in our community and I would love to recommend some in your area. Please message me and we can discuss details!

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, I do offer gift certificates. For more information, please contact me.

Why hire a professional birth photographer?
