The newborn stage is incredibly brief, yet full of beauty and joy. It passes quickly - before you know it, you have a toddler. Documenting these early days gives you the opportunity to freeze this fleeting moment in time and ensures the preservation of these beautiful, tiny details for generations to come.
At salt city birth and newborn photography, I provide session planning, session set up in my West Jordan studio, session execution and delivery of images and products. My studio is fully stocked, with all of the props, wraps, clothes, headbands, bonnets, etc. that we will need for your session. If you choose a session that includes parent photos, you will also have access to my client closet if you desire.
Inquire Send me a consultation form with your due date and any other relavent information. I will respond as soon as possible with my availability and the next steps.
Book your session Once we've talked details, I will send over the documentation to get your session on the books. You'll sign a contract, fill out a questionnaire that will help me plan for your session and pay a 25% deposit to hold your session date.
Schedule your session Once your baby is born, reach out to me via text or email so we can get a solid date not the calendar.
Your session Arrive to your session, sit back and relax while I take portraits of your newborn! I have coffee, water, snacks, etc.
Afterwards After your session, I will edit your images and send them to you via an online gallery. From there, you will be able to download your high resolution images.
Products If you're interested in ordering any products, you'll have the opportunity to order them through me. I use a heirloom-quality printing company for my products.
Safety The safety of your newborn is always my top priority. I have taken multiple trainings and mentorships with some of the top newborn photographers in the country and world.
Fully stocked studio My studio is fully stocked with all of the things we need for your newborn session. I am always purchasing new and trending props, wraps, hairbands, bonnets, knitted outfits, etc. to ensure a beautiful session for you and your baby.

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my newborn session?
It's always best to book earlier rather than later to ensure availability. I recommend reaching out in your second trimester to get on my schedule. If you're already later into your pregnancy or your baby has been born, please don't hesitate to reach out. I always do my best to fit in last second sessions if I can!
When do you schedule the session?
I try and do newborn sessions between 4-14 days, but of course there is flexibility. Especially if baby needs to spend time in the NICU or if something else arises.
What do I need to bring?
In regards to items needed for the photos, nothing! My studio is fully stocked and I have everything we need for the session. For your diaper bag, it's always wise to bring diapers, wet wipes and a binkie. I don't use binkies too often, but they are really helpful when a baby needs a little soothing. I also recommend a bottle with a little breastmilk/formula to use for soothing into poses as well, but this is not necessary (especially if you are trying to establish breastfeeding and are worried about nipple confusion)
How long are the sessions?
That depends on the session type you booked, but they range from 1 hour to 3 hours.
